The Next Chapter ๐Ÿ“š

2โ€“3 minutes

When did 30 become young? At what age were we, when we sat back and thought to ourselves… “You know what, 30 isn’t old at all. Practically still a teenager”. Then you rewind to when we all thought a 30 year old was obviously old enough to be someone’s grandparent. And when you realize that all the 30 year olds are now you and your friends, and that we’re all still trying to figure it out… that’s an interesting reality check.

I titled this blog, The Next Chapter, because that’s kind of where I’m at in life. I’ve had my babies, and who knows if I’ll have any more (truly depends on the day you ask me). They’re starting to grow up. Having sleepovers, starting Pre-School, ok both of those things are just Avery, but you get the point. They don’t need me every second of every day anymore. So as a stay-at-home-mom I ask myself… what now?!

From that thought of “what now?” KD Marketing was born. After two and half years of not being tied down to a desk for 40+ hours a week, theres just no way I can go back. Don’t leave your corporate job if you ever have intentions of trying to go back years later, to a regular Monday thru Friday. Once you get a taste of the freedom to make your own schedule, you’re tainted… it’s done.

But that raises the question, what does the next chapter look like? As I come to terms with being in my late 20’s, and starting this new phase of life, I’m starting to explore what makes me happy.

On a side note, it’s so annoying how all those little sayings you hear, “Find something that fills your cup” or “If you’re happy, you’ll never work a day in your life”, they’re all true. Hate that for us.

So… what makes me happy? My children. My husband. My family (outside of the three of them). My friends. Spending time outside. A clean home (this one is hard to achieve haha). You know, the basics.

What fills my cup professionally? I’m always happiest when I see a marketing campaign come to together and then is flawlessly executed. I also always love meeting business owners and hearing their stories. Seeing the passion they have behind their business and industry. Human connection, that’s what it’s all about.

I’m very fortunate to have been able to marry my two passions. Being with my family, while still meeting and helping local business owners. KD Marketing is still in its infancy, and I’m growing every day. I’ve already learned a lot and continuing to learn along the way. Thank you everyone who has shared a post, given my name to someone as a reference or even just liked my page. All the support seriously means so much! I’m excited to keep on this journey, and see where KD Marketing takes me โค๏ธ.

My question to you is, what would you do for work if given the opportunity to follow your passion?
