First post of 2021, woohoo! I think we can all agree that last year took a toll on us. Mentally, physically, emotionally, the whole nine yards. Although it was a dumpster fire of a year for most, for Jordon and me, it was the best year we’ve ever had.
This year however, will probably qualify as the year that everything will be flipped for me. I’ve put up my business casual clothes, and embracing the stay at home/ work from home Mom bun.
I’ve been working for over a decade of my life now. I’ve always had a set schedule. What time I have to wake up, what time I need to be out the door and to my destination, whether that was a class or work. And yes, I’ve had vacations, but those always have time limits on them. You know they are coming to an end. With this new journey I literally have nothing but time. In theory sounds like a dream, right? But when you’ve been conditioned to always be go-go-go, it can be a little daunting. Now, with that being said, I will have a little human running my life. I’m sure she’ll keep me more than busy. But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little afraid of becoming unmotivated and turning into a couch potato.
This post is me manifesting my goals in 2021. I am going to start my freelancing career. Providing marketing and media services for people looking to hire outside of their company. Which I’m very excited for! I’ll be able to set my own hours, decide when I want to log on, be able to run errands during the day without having to ask permission… the dream! The biggest gain however is being able to be present with my little one, and any future little ones to come (sooner than later, God willing.)
I’m pretty lucky to have a husband so willing to let me do this. I use the word “let” very loosely, because obviously I’m an adult and I make my own decisions. But I do believe when it’s a decision that will effect the whole house and family that we’ve created together, it should be discussed and agreed upon. I think I’ve mentioned in previous posts, but he’s a keeper (most days lol.)
So with all that being said, I’m really looking forward to having more free time to write, post on my own pages and promote myself. Contemplating making a professional social media page? Just because I don’t know how I feel about having an account that public facing with my daughter all over it… thoughts? Would you follow? Haha, let me know.
Talk soon!!
